Mercy Ships
Who are Mercy Ships?
Mercy Ships is a Christian charity that works on hospital ships that travel the coast of Africa to heal and provide hope for those suffering with disabilities, disfigurement and diseases. They provide free surgery and surgical systems for those in need.
Lenten Giving in Granta
This year, in Granta we are raising money for Mercy Ships. Donations to Mercy Ships are used in funding the surgical equipment, the boats themselves and the setting up of these transportable hospitals. The money is also used to help train the medical staff that do such incredible work for those in need.
Why have we chosen Mercy Ships?
We discovered Mercy Ships through the suggestion of one of our pupils and upon discussion felt very passionate about the care they offer, for those who really need it. We were inspired by the incredible amounts of hope and joy this charity can provide on a regular basis through their work.
